With Sinmara's music, for me it is always about how the interweaving guitar lines contribute to the claustrophobic cloud of sound they create. I loved "Aphotic Womb" but this is a step up in terms of both songwriting & melody. The first half of the record is rock solid. But it is on the towering second half of "Hvísl Stjarnanna" where Sinmara perfects their vision, with the obvious standout "Crimson Stars" being a complete & perfect black metal song. Should be about time for new music soon? bcb723
This record recalls that quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away". There's nothing left to take away here - the composition and execution is thoughtful and sure-handed, the result focused and powerful. This is black metal long removed from icy Norwegian forests; instead, it trawls shadowy inner currents, where spirits dwell. Abandon hope, but discover oneself, all ye who enter. fyeahmetal
Thanks for the good music !!! Of course I am a fan of the group Kvist I really liked this album, I waited so long for real old school Norwegian black metal and finally it appeared !!! Олег Смирнов
A ferocious display of blackened stoner-doom from Moscow's Moanhand, who offsets moments of bleak ugliness with clean, haunting melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 23, 2021
Dark Dragons of the Cosmos originally lured me into the cosmic realms of what is otherwise known as Battle Dagorath. Distorted vocals from beyond distant stars mix with atmospheric keys and mostly razor sharp, sometimes melodic, guitar riffs, nestled into the cold monotony of a drum computer. Being already a really strong release itself, Dark Dragons should only prove to be a harbinger of the true greatness of future albums to come. Mohemian
